DOT series of drop-out fuse

DOT-type outdoor drop-out fuse developed by us is to provide over current and short circuit protection devices of outdoor high voltage overhead power distribution system for the power companies and industrial users.

◇ excellent breaking performance
DOT fuse has 12.5kA / 12kV fault current breaking capacity, and its products can reach the highest breaking current with 16kA.
DOT type fuse is composed of melting tube winded with epoxy impregnated glass fuse tube arc media material and the upper and lower copper alloy castings. Fuse tube arc extinguishing material is capable of generating a large amount of gas instantaneous, rapid injection and rapid extinguishing.
DOT type drop-out fuse offers a variety of fault current segment protection. It reaches its flexibility characteristics by using a pressure release cap. Pressure release cap is designed to single-spray downwards for a small electric current and gradually double-spray for the big current. Pressure relief cap enables DOT fuse eject ionized gas more effectively from the fuse tube and greatly improved its breaking capacity.
The design of upper contact component of DOT fuse ensures contact pressure and good contact at rated current. After the arc cut-off, due to the reactive force of the upper and lower spring of contact compression, the fuse component can have a more reliable and faster fall, better performance for cut-off .
The lower headstock and torsion spring joint device can ensure safe and reliable breaking for small fault current
Using a special fuse material, with precise time-current characteristics, rated maximum breaking current can be achieved safely and reliably.

◇ small loop resistance
In order to obtain high conductivity, DOT fuse conductive circuit components used high-strength copper alloy castings. The silver plating process is adopted for the surface of contact components. Silvered upper and lower contact greatly reduces the contact resistance, thereby reduce the loop resistance of DOT, and improve the reliability of electrical contact.

◇strong weather resistance
The base is made of high strength, high self-cleaning porcelain insulators or silicone insulators. DOT product base is made of the embedded mechanical structure and insulator , with a special adhesive material casting process, the installation support bar and insulator is bonded together with excellent force to withstand large mechanical strength and it can withstand short-circuit breaking current generated from electric power.
The overall cast is adopted for installation of the support bar with porcelain or silicone insulators, and increases the safety net distance and improves safety.
Using special adhesive, concentration of casting internal stress could be avoided, and the insulator ice split-up caused by surface icing and gap watering could also be avoided, hence greatly extending the life of the ceramic insulator.

◇ longer life cycle
Special manufacturing process of fuse insulator enables the tight and durable connections, and withstand severe impact of fuse breaking fault current. All the carton steel components of fuse use hot-dip galvanized parts, thanks to the rigorous salt-spray test, and guarantees corrosion-free in the served lifetime.
The upper contact uses the spring design and silver-plate, and the contact shell component of the lower contact uses stainless steel springs support and silver plating contacts, therefore improves the reliability of electrical contact, reduces high contact resistance and damage to the equipment, improves the lifespan and ensures that the fuses in the whole life cycle has good contact performance.


◇Expansion of the breaking load
The fuse, plus an exclusive load breaking tool can achieve breaking function of load switch. By using an exclusive load breaking tool, charged operation of the load current can be made, so that the product has the ability to load switch.
Given the domestic habits and procedures, this function is not recommended.

◇ Interchangeability
The same type of fuse base and fusion tube components are interchangeable. This feature of the fuse tube can avoid the dependence on the manufacturer installed on the tower of drop-out fuse, reducing the replacement time of drop-out fuse during a power outage. Interchangeability helps the user inventory to be greatly reduced therefore total costs can be reduced.

◇ Easy installation
Installation bar of the fuse uses double-orifice fastening which is designed to improve the solidity and reliability of the installation.
Large operating TAB design makes operation easier and convenient.
The normally used operating lever can be used with no need of the special tools.
Joint mechanism design of the lower contacts of unique fusion tube component enables good neutrality and reliability of close- point operation.

◇ Range of fuse-link
DOT 100A fuse type load capacity accommodates the rated current of 1A ~ 100A fuse-link, DOT 200A fuse type load capacity accommodates the rated current of 100A ~ 200A fuse-link. For certain occasions, the fuse specification is selected based on continuous load current, the type of protective equipment and other equipment required for overcurrent protection.

◇ The standard
DOT type drop-out fuse meets the following standards, but are not limited to the following standard
DL / T 640-1997
GB / T 15166.3-2008

◇Base
Base with strong weathering resistance is made of high-strength, high self-cleaning porcelain insulators or silicone insulators. DOT base is made of the embedded mechanical structure and insulator. With the use of a special adhesive material casting process, the installation of the support bar and insulator is bonded forcefully to withstand large mechanical force and short-circuit breaking current generated by electric power.

◇ Lower contact
Joint mechanism design of the lower contacts of unique fusion tube component enables good neutrality and reliability of close- point operation.

◇ Pressure relief cap
It reaches its flexibility characteristics by using a pressure release cap or fuse extension cap. Pressure release cap is designed to single-spray downwards for a small electric current and gradually double-spray for the big current.

◇ Fuse wire
Using a special fuse wire material, with precise time-current characteristics, the rated maximum breaking current can be realized safely and reliably. All parts are made of high quality material, silver thickness is 12μm or even higher.
