Smart grid will introduce 4G technology

In the 18th, the Chinese broadband clusters (B-TrunC) Industry Alliance and the TD Industry Alliance Jointly Awarded, the first high-level laboratories of domestic power industry - broadband Cluster LTE power industry research and joint application of laboratory formally was established in NARI Group, Nanjing
The current grid has become more and more complex and safe operation control of systems is increasing, while traditional power wireless communication technology based on narrowband is difficult to meet the needs of the development. Therefore the introduction of 4G wireless broadband communication technology into smart grid applications is imminent. The laboratory was founded by Nanjing NARI Group Corporation, together with the Ministry of Telecommunications Research Institute, Jiangsu Provincial Power Company Electric Research Institute and other five units. The purpose is to solve the difficulties of broadband clustering communication technology and realize the application of transmission, transformation, distribution, use, transfer and other areas in its Smart Grid. According to the repots, after the introduction of the technology of smart grid applications, it enables rapid positioning and self- healing if power network fails. ICT companies, currently under NARI Group, subsidiary has launched 4G LTE demonstration projects.
